VPA21-Visual & Performing Arts / 21st Century Life & Careers
The award-winning Visual and Performing Arts & 21st Century Life and Careers Department at Paramus High School offers students a dynamic pathway to explore creativity, innovation, and real-world skills through full year and semester long elective course offerings. We have options for both AP and dual enrollment courses across our department. Our faculty are professionals whose knowledge of our course content is firsthand and true examples of how to be a “creative” who offers what they know to the next generation.
Visual and Media Arts Programs
Here, students develop their artistic voice through drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, filmmaking, and animation courses that are taught by faculty who are experts and prolific creators in these subject areas.
Performing Arts Programs
Here, students experience the joys of rehearsing, creating, and performing through our band, choir, orchestra, dance, acting, guitar, piano, music theory, and music technology ensembles/electives that are taught by esteemed and professional performers in their own right. We also have a robust theater program that performs both a yearly drama and musical.
21st Century Life and Careers Programs
Here, students experience real-world skills learning and creating in our culinary arts, fashion and interior design, early childhood education, and business courses like financial literacy, economics, and accounting electives. Students can even gain real-world experience through our innovative CO-OP program, working in their chosen field during the school day.
